Hi! I was born in Sydney but lived in rural New South Wales with the family before ‘settling’ in Woy Woy on the NSW Central Coast in the early 1980s. In 1991, I moved to Brisbane so my Dad could train for ordained ministry in the Anglican Church. In 1993, I left home shortly before Mum and Dad moved to the Gold Coast. Prior to entering St Francis Theological College in 2002, I worked in a number of administration positions including a computer software development business (where I was a director) assisting in providing the computer training; a chiropractic clinic where I was the clinic administrator; a telecommunications company working as a team leader in a call centre and a variety of temporary office positions establishing office practices and principles for new businesses.

In 2004 I obtained a Bachelor of Theology degree and was ordained Deacon on the Feast of St Andrew. In 2005, I graduated with a Graduate Diploma of Ministry through Melbourne College of Divinity and was ordained Priest on the Feast of St Thomas. From December 2004 to early 2007, I was Assistant Curate at Christ Church, St Lucia; and then until 2011 Priest in Charge of Cooroora Parish, graduating with a Master of Ministry Degree from Charles Sturt University in 2009. I was commissioned as Rector of All Saints Chermside on May 31st 2011.

Hello! I was born in Toowoomba and moved to Brisbane in 1960 with my family. I worshipped at St Alban’s Wilston until I was 12 years old. I was confirmed at The Holy Trinity parish in 1965 and this is where I developed a deep sense of spirituality and compassion for the disadvantaged. Previous positions held before I began my studies at St Francis College include Dental Nursing, Family Day Care, Early Childhood Teachers Aide, Support Worker in Mental Health and volunteer Pastoral Carer in hospital ministry. I was ordained Deacon in 1999 and in 2000 I completed my Bachelor of Theology and was ordained Priest. From 1996 – 2010 I served as Chaplain within Palliative Care at The Wesley Hospital. My home parish was St Clement’s at Stafford, where I served as Honorary Deacon from 1999 – 2000. Following ordination I served as Honorary Assistant Curate at St Paul’s Cleveland from 2000-2002, and Honorary Assistant Priest at Sandgate Northpoint 2002-2009. In 2006 I completed a Master of Counselling (ACU) and in 2009 I joined the parish of Chermside as Honorary Priest. In July 2010 I accepted a new full time position within Spiritus as Coordinating Chaplain.

Deacon Gay Nye
Greetings! My name is Gay Nye and I am the Deacon at All Saints. This Parish Community has been my spiritual home for more than thirty years. I came here with my young family in the early 70’s and found this community very welcoming, supportive and nurturing. I have served as Warden, Sunday School coordinator, leader of Young Wives group and leader of studies. I began exploring a calling to ordained ministry in the 1990s, was ordained in 1999, and it is my privilege to serve as the Deacon. I am a part time Prep Teacher employed by Education Queensland and I am also the Leader of the Household of Deacons. I hope to continue the work with “Little Saints” in 2009. I have three adult children, two are married and I have three beautiful grandchildren.

My name is Karen Winters and my family has been a member of the All Saints’ Chermside Parish family since 1994. We first attended All Saints’ when our last child was born coming to the Parish for baptism. I began working at All Saints’ in July 2000. Previously I worked at a Primary School as the administration assistant, then as office manager in our own business and I also worked at a High School in computing. Recently I completed an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration. I am married to David and we have two boys Christopher and Matthew. Christopher is a Graphic Designer while Matthew is a student at a local Anglican School. Having a younger child, we are still very involved with his School and his sporting life. My passions are my family and reading. The areas of Ministry that call me are Emergency Relief, Cursillo, the Catechumenate and working with families coming to All Saints' for baptism.
