The brief description of these ministries gives some idea of the tasks undertaken in the various roles.

Parishioners are invited to offer themselves in these areas.

Liturgical Assistants (LA's)

The LA's are licensed in this role by the Archbishop of the Diocese, to assist the Priest during parts of the Eucharist.

Servers

Servers support the liturgy in a general way and carry out tasks during the service.

Community Choir

Members of the congregation who wish to sing, are welcome to join the Community Choir, and support the service on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Cardinale

Members with musical sight reading experience, perform music of increased difficulty in a four part chamber vocal ensemble on the third Sunday of each month.

Organists & Instrumentalists

Organists and instrumentalists support the music in different ways during the eucharists each week.

Readers

The readings during the Eucharist each week are from the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.

Intercessors

During the service, the prayers are read and said by the intercessors nominated.

Intercession Writers

An important part of the Church life is regular prayer. People are rostered to thoughtfully and carefully prepare relevant and topical prayers for use in the services each week.

The focus of these prayers is the needs of the world; the Church; the community and people in need. Thanks is also given for the departed.

Welcomers

An important ministry is to welcome people at the door. People are always at the Church door to welcome worshippers for services. We strive to be a welcoming church.

Sidespersons

General administrative tasks that facilitate the service flow are carried out by people in these roles.

Sacristans

Preparation before the service commences ensures smooth running once started. Sacristans spend time in the Church on the previous day preparing any necessary items.

Flowers in Church

  1. Donors of flowers for use in Church usually do so in memory of someone special on the anniversary of death.
  2. Arrangers of flowers are rostered to collect flowers and refresh the arrangements weekly.

Linen

Worship in Church uses a variety of special linen cloths in the sanctuary. They are carefully laundered for use by parishioners on monthly roster.

Sound Technician

A variety of IT, sound and microphone instrumentation require management before and during the service.
