LIFES BIG EVENTS
Baptisms Baptism occurs in our Church in the context of a normal Eucharist following a period of preparation with the parents. Initial contact needs to be made with the parish office. Lay people are involved with home visits to the families, with support on the day of baptism and follow up. The parish priest also visits the families. Weddings People wishing to be married in the Church need to contact the parish office. Interviews are held with the parish priest to establish the legal and religious requirements for a marriage to be conducted. Couples desiring to be married are welcome to visit and consider All Saints as a suitable place for their marriage. Funerals Funeral services may take the form of a Requiem (including Holy Communion) or may be a shorter form of service. The parish priest takes as much time as the family needs to construct a meaningful liturgy. Admissions to Holy Communion Commonly referred to as the‘first Communion’. It is a special time celebrated when children over 7 years of age express a desire to be admitted to Communion. Children are prepared to receive the sacrament and are specially welcomed during the service Confirmations Confirmations occur during the Catechumenate process and follow a period of preparation. Please refer to the Catechumenate. At other times interested groups are prepared separately and confirm their commitment to the faith.
